The current NFL has its share of teams each year that rebound after forgettable seasons. Which 5 teams have given us an early preview of this possibility?

The five NFL teams listed below are all coming off losing campaigns. Many of them played their best football later in the year while one slumped after a good start. A few have been to the playoffs in recent years while others haven’t reached the postseason for a spell.

No matter how you break it down, each of these franchises have enjoyed solid offseasons and have been aggressive when it comes to improving their teams. Does a bounce back year mean each will wind up in the postseason? Not necessarily, but that became a lot easier now that seven clubs in each conference will qualify for the playoffs.

Listed below are clubs that have made quality moves to date. And there’s still an NFL draft in less than three weeks.

5.  Atlanta Falcons (7-9 in 2019)

It’s a club that won six of its final eight games a year ago and that included road wins over NFC division champions New Orleans and San Francisco. Of course, the Atlanta Falcons were a 1-7 football team after eight games and in the midst of a six-game losing streak before turning things around.

This offseason, it’s been about turning things over. Gone are running back Devonta Freeman, pass-rusher Vice Beasley, cornerback Desmond Trufant and emerging tight end Austin Hooper. In are running back Todd Gurley, edge presence Dante Fowler Jr. and tight end Hayden Hurst – the latter via trade from the Ravens. Gurley is hoping to regain his former Pro Bowl form and help fix the league’s 30th-ranked running game while Fowler hopes to aid a pass rush that has disappointed for far too long.

The Falcons have posted consecutive 7-9 showing after back-to-back playoff appearances. A slew of new faces and some help via the draft and this team could pick up where it left off in the second half of ’19.
