The third round of the Orange Tree Classic is set to begin on Friday! Let’s take a look at the DraftKings showdown contest for round three!

Before I discuss my DraftKings player selections I want to clearly emphasize that this article is focused on the third round showdown contest. The single round showdown contest offered by DraftKings is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional classic contest that DraftKings currently offers for fantasy golf.

For those readers that are not aware, the classic contest offered by DraftKings focuses on an entire golf tournament. In direct contrast to the classic contest, the showdown contest is focused on only one round. This article is specifically focused on the third round of the Orange Tree Classic.

If you have additional questions regarding the single round showdown contest I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

Here are my player selections for third round showdown contest!

Carson Roberts $10,700

Carson Roberts has been playing some outstanding golf on the Outlaw Tour over the last month. To be more specific, Roberts arrived at this week’s Orange Tree Classic on the heels of three top five finishes in his last four events on the Outlaw Tour! Additionally, in the four event span just mentioned, it should be noted that Roberts finished second at the Western Skies Classic two weeks ago.

Roberts will enter the third round of the Orange Tree Classic as the solo leader with a two round cumulative score of 17 under par. Through two rounds of play, Roberts has 12 birdies and four eagles! I fully expect that Roberts will continue to play great golf in Thursday’s third round.

Riley Wheeldon $10,000

In his last seven events played on the Outlaw Tour, Riley Wheeldon has six top nine finishes, including a win at the Moon Valley Classic three weeks ago. Just to put some perspective on this man’s ability to score, let’s look at a key statistic that I stumbled upon during my research. Through 22 total rounds played this season, Wheeldon has 101 birdies!

Jake Staiano $9,100

Staiano has played six tournaments on the Outlaw Tour this season. In six events played, Staiano has four top 14 finishes, including a win the East Valley Championship last month. Through two rounds of play at this Orange Tree Classic, Jake Staiano is tied for second with a score of 12 under par.

Nick Mason $8,900

Mason has only played one event on the Outlaw Tour this season. In that one appearance on Tour, Mason finished seventh at the Western Skies Classic. It should also be noted that Mason finished 42nd at the 2016 Sony Open on the PGA Tour. If he can play that well on the PGA Tour I think he can get it done on the Outlaw Tour!

Dylan Healey $7,100

Healey finished sixth at the Moon Valley Classic three weeks ago. He fired a second round 69 at the Orange Tree Classic on Wednesday. He will enter the third round in a tie for 19th place. I like the look of Healey at a DraftKings price of only $7,100.

As always, good luck!
