30 retired NHL jerseys that need to be brought back into the light of day

Carolina Hurricanes: Hartford Whalers throwback jersey
This one is a bit of a cop out, considering the Hurricanes have worn Whalers throwbacks before. However, the team does not have a deep jersey history to pull from, and the team already brought back the warning flag alternates for the 2019-20 season. The Whalers have one of the best logos in sports, and should be shown off more.
Chicago Blackhawks: 1999-07 alternate jersey
Red and white has been the name of the game for the Blackhawks in recent years. Chicago has gone with a black jersey for some outdoor games, but I’d love to see them adding one back into their rotation as an alternate full-time.
Colorado Avalanche: 2001-07 alternate jersey
The Avalanche haven’t had prominent lettering on their jerseys since 2015, but I’m not a big fan of the blue they had during that time. These crimson purple alternates deserve another chance in the spotlight after a decade-plus of time away.
Columbus Blue Jackets: 2000-01 jersey
The original Blue Jackets jerseys had a hint of green in them back in the day, with a completely different logo. Columbus’ current canon alternate isn’t bad, but it’d be great to see them return to their roots for a 20th anniversary jersey.
Dallas Stars: 1999-06 jersey
Stars’ jerseys that had an actual star in the negative space? Love that, even though it’s kinda tacky. Dallas could even upgrade these with the current Stars green — which is an overall better look for them — to up the cool factor.
