Dallas Cowboys full 2020 NFL mock draft
Fifth Round
The Cowboys have two picks in the fifth round: their regularly scheduled pick and a compensatory pick gained after losing Cole Beasley to the Buffalo Bills last winter.
The Cowboys have starters at safety right now in HaHa Clinton-Dix and Xavier Woods, but both players will be free agents after the season. Muse turned heads at the combine with the second-fastest 40 time in the safety group and has good instincts at the position. The plan should be to develop Muse into a potential starter in 2021.
Jerry Jones let it slip that the Cowboys are looking at quarterbacks in the draft when he shared that the team was doing a Zoom interview with Jalen Hurts. Dallas waits till the end of the fifth round to grab Stanley, a pocket passer with a gifted arm that needs to work on his accuracy and decision-making skills. Stanley would sit behind Prescott and hopefully develop into his long term backup.
Sixth Round
The Cowboys don’t have a sixth-round pick after dealing to Miami last season in the Robert Quinn trade.
Seventh Round
The last pick the Cowboys make is Tyler Higby, a guard from Michigan State. Higby is a developmental project along the interior line, which Dallas can afford to do since Connor McGovern figures to enter the starting lineup this season.
