Los Angeles Chargers 2020 mock draft: Full 7 rounds
By Conor Dorney
2nd round
There are a ton of intriguing defensive tackle prospects in the 2020 class, and after adding Linval Joseph to shore up the run defense, the Chargers could turn to more of a pass rush threat with Texas A&M’s Justin Madubuike in round two.
Madubuike is a quick-twitch athlete who was a standout performer during the NFL Draft Combine, posting a remarkable 4.83 40-yard dash and 31 reps on the bench press.
I love how Madubuike plays with consistent leverage and rarely fires too tall out of his stance. He has a relentless motor and finds himself making a lot of tackles on his second effort. He will need to improve at playing under control, as often he’ll take himself out of plays due to his aggressive play style.
The signing of Bryan Bulaga makes offensive tackle less of an immediate need, so Los Angeles instead opts to shores up its defense at the top of round two.
