This Monday, the Outlaw Tour travels to Glendale, Arizona for the Arrowhead Classic! Let’s take a look at the DraftKings first round showdown contest for this event from a fantasy perspective!

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections I want to clearly emphasize that this article is focused on the first round showdown contest. The single round showdown contest offered by Draftkings is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional classic contest that Draftkings currently offers for golf.

For those readers that are not aware, the classic contest offered by Draftkings focuses on an entire golf tournament. In direct contrast to the classic contest, the showdown contest focuses on only one round. This article is specifically focused on the first round of the Arrowhead Classic!

Let’s shift our focus to what I love to do the most! Here are my player selections for the first round of the Arrowhead Classic!

Alex Cejka $10,700

Cejka played his first event on the Outlaw Tour last week. Despite the fact that Cejka had not played competitive golf in approximately six weeks, he posted a final round 69 en route to an impressive sixth place result at last week’s Orange Tree Classic.

Prior to the current global pandemic that resulted in a stoppage of the PGA Tour season, Cejka played seven golf tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those seven events played, Cejka made the cut in five of those events. It should also be noted that Alex Cejka finished in 32nd place at the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Carson Roberts $9,700

Roberts arrives at this week’s event on the heels of three consecutive top five finishes on the Outlaw Tour, including a win at last week’s Orange Tree Classic. Carson Roberts has had no issues with regard to getting off to fast starts in the first rounds of the tournaments he has played this season. To be more specific, in his last three first rounds played, Roberts has an average first round score of 64.33!

Ryan Porch $$8,600

He has three consecutive top nine finishes on the Outlaw Tour, including a seventh place finish at the Verrado Founders Championship two weeks ago. Through four events played this season, Porch has a first round scoring average of 66.5.

Dylan Healey $8,200

The 24 year old American has played five events on the Outlaw Tour this season. Healey has made the cut in all events played. He finished sixth at the Moon Valley Classic a month ago. Additionally, Healey finished ninth at last week’s Orange Tree Classic.

George Markham $7,500

With my next player selection, I am going with a golfer that has outstanding fantasy upside and arrives on this slate at a relatively low cost ($7,500). That player’s name is George Markham. Markham has played two tournaments on the Outlaw Tour this season. In those two tournaments played, Markham has two top 20 finishes, including a 14th place result at the Western Skies Classic in March.
