If the Bills can go 2-0 against the co-occupants of SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, that would be tremendous. While beating the Los Angeles Chargers would be terrific for morale and confidence for so many more reasons, the Bills need to beat the Los Angeles Rams to prove they are undoubtedly the better team.

If Buffalo is on the rise, then the Bills need to make sure the Rams are on the fall. The Rams made several front office moves that were geared towards the present and shamelessly compromised their future. Because they’re moving into a new stadium in a distracted sports media market, it’s more important than ever for the Rams to win now. However, they may not have the horses for it.

Simply put, the Bills can’t let Jared Goff come into New Era Field and light their elite secondary up like a Christmas tree. It remains to be seen if Goff can function for even a split second off-script in Sean McVay’s offense. Goff is a more accurate passer than Josh Allen, but the Bills quarterback is infinitely more mobile and is willing to dial something up when a play falls apart in front of him.

Overall, the Bills can’t go 6-2 at home if they don’t beat the Rams. They’re coming across the country to possibly play in terrible weather. The Bills have a better defense, a better running game and great staff continuity than what is in place in Los Angeles. This is a game the Bills have to win if they want to get back to the AFC playoffs. It’s their most important game out of the AFC East.
