Second Round

Pick Analysis. player. 817. 59. Scouting Report. S. LSU Tigers. Grant Delpit

It would be quite the fall for the reigning Jim Thorpe Award winner in the college game, but there is a chance LSU Tigers safety Grant Delpit falls to the second round. Though he made a lot plays at LSU, he also got burnt like toast more than a handful of times in the Bayou Bengals secondary. Regardless, if he falls all the way to No. 59 in the second round, the Seahawks better take him.

Delpit was a two-time First-Team All-American, a two-time All-SEC First Teamer and a national champion at LSU in 2019. With 199 career total tackles, 18 pass breakups and eight interceptions during his three seasons in Baton Rouge, Delpit has the versatility necessary to be a key cog in Pete Carroll’s defense for a very long time. This is an ideal landing spot for him should he drop.

Pick Analysis. WR. Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Chase Claypool. player. 819. Scouting Report. 64

Seattle has a second pick in the second round this year, stemming from the Frank Clark trade made with the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of last season. Though the Seahawks seemed to have found something pretty good in D.K. Metcalf, they could sure use another wide receiver to help him out in this draft. The pick here has to be Chase Claypool out of the University of Notre Dame.

Claypool is a big target at 6-foot-4 and 229 pounds. He played in a ton of big games for Brian Kelly up in South Bend. He leaves the Irish with 150 catches for 2,159 yards and 19 touchdowns. Claypool is coming off a stellar senior season, one where he had 66 catches for 1,037 yards and 13 touchdowns. He would have been all-conference if Notre Dame actually played in a conference.
