2020 NFL Draft position rankings: Top 10 running backs
10. JaMycal Hasty, Baylor
Baylor’s JaMycal Hasty provides a lot of upside in the 2020 NFL Draft class.
Of course, there will be questions about production and while the 2019 season proved to be a solid one for Hasty, it’s puzzling why he didn’t get more opportunities in the backfield. The good news is he made the most of it on tape.
First off, Hasty can scoot. His burst and long speed are very good and he is a danger to make house calls when he hits the second level. Hasty can create in the backfield and is so shifty and smooth in his cuts. He’s so sudden and can make defenders miss with ease. Hasty also looked super smooth in combine drills.
Like Taylor, Hasty can be a factor in the passing game. He can line up in the slot and work the middle of the field and be a security blanket for his quarterback. Hasty is also a tough runner and competitive when tasked to be a lead blocker.
He possesses so many qualities you’d want in a rotational back at the next level, and he can contribute on every down. Make no mistake, Hasty could become one of the steals in the 2020 NFL Draft, especially among the running backs.
- Grade: Fourth Round
- Comparison: Devonta Freeman
