1. The Broncos will make the playoffs

The Chiefs are clearly the class of the AFC West, but the No. 2 spot in the division is up for grabs. If the Broncos can overcome the Chargers and Raiders they should be in good position to nab a Wild Card berth.

The franchise is building the right way. Their ability to secure a playoff spot in 2020 is just a question of whether or not they’re mature enough on offense. Lock doesn’t have to be great to get them into the playoffs. He just needs to be competent with an occasional big throw at the right time.

Otherwise, it’s going to be up to the defense and ground game to grind out close victories. Denver doesn’t have a large margin for error, but they’ve got the right sort of talent to win more than their fair share of close games.

This is one of the franchises that is best positioned to take advantage of the extra playoff spot. 9-7 might be good enough to get Denver into the postseason. That only represents a modest two game improvement over what they produced in 2019. Look for the Broncos to do just enough to sneak into the playoffs one season ahead of schedule.
