The Last Dance docuseries will focus on the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls, but which of Michael Jordan’s six championship teams was actually best? And where do they rank compared to each other?

With sports on hold and ESPN moving up the release of its 10-part docuseries, The Last Dance, to April 19, nostalgia over Michael Jordan, the 1990s Chicago Bulls and NBA basketball in general is about to be at an all-time high. Honestly, it’ll be perfectly warranted too.

In that same vein, there’s never been a better time to educate today’s quarantined youth about the importance, prominence and historical significance of those Bulls teams that put together arguably the most successful stretch in modern NBA history.

Whether you ascribe to MJ or LeBron James as the GOAT (it’s His Airness, by the way, sorry not sorry), this upcoming docuseries on 1997-98 Bulls figures to be must-watch television as it dives into the drama, elation, struggles and triumphs of Jordan’s final title run.

Before Episodes 1 and 2 air on Sunday, however, it’s important for prospective viewers to learn (or refresh) what they know about everything that led up to that tumultuous season. In the interest of doing so, one helpful exercise is sorting through each of MJ’s title seasons/teams.
