3. Cesar Ruiz

Tackle isn’t the only spot the Seahawks might look at to improve their offensive line production. Finding an interior player capable of creating bigger holes in the run game could also pay big dividends for the franchise.

Ruiz is the best prospect in a relatively weak class of interior lineman. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve to be a late first round pick. He’s more tactician than brute, but he finds a way to move defensive lineman out of the way just the same.

His versatility should also add to his value as a prospect. Lots of NFL interior lineman claim they can play all three interior spots, but Ruiz actually can. He can legitimately be the Seahawks’ backup at three positions during his rookie season.

Ruiz may lack the upside Seattle would ideally seek in a first round pick, but he’s got a really high floor. The team could do a lot worse than selecting a rookie starter at No. 27. If the Seahawks don’t take him there he’ll still be snapped up before Day One ends.
