NCAA basketball: 15 best college basketball uniforms, ranked
By Adam Childs
7. Pittsburgh Panthers
Pitt changed their uniforms for the teams this year and they knocked it out the park. They had changed to navy blue and gold for a long time but finally went back to the lighter blue and yellow that looks so good together.
Whenever they wore it for football, fans would love it and they finally took the hint and went back to it for all their teams and it made them look great. The basketball uniforms are awesome especially the blue ones. If you would rank these higher I wouldn’t argue with that choice either, but the ones I have in front are classic.
The jersey is great. They went back to the script Pitt at the top in yellow on the road jersey and blue on the home set. The numbers are outlined to make them look a little different from the lettering. Then they did the stripe around the collar and arm. Overall there is nothing about the jersey I would change. They did it right and need to stick with that.
The shorts are pretty good also. They are the only uniform on this list that has a stripe on one side and not the other. It’s the only thing that kind of has me hesitant about this uniform, but everything else is great. They have a different color waistline which looks great. They have a stripe on the right leg, and on the left leg they have the panther logo on it. The logo is a good look and if I was being really picky I would have it on the other side also. Either that or put the stripe on the other side also. But again I think it looks great the way it is.
Pitt made the biggest change to the uniforms and it took a uniform that wasn’t great into one of the best in the country. This is such a great look.
