Every NFL team has a lot riding on the first round of the 2020 Draft. Here’s the best realistic outcome for every team heading into Day One.

Round 1 of the 2020 NFL Draft is going to look and feel differently for fans, but the goal of each franchise will remain the same as it’s always been. Each front office is still going to do their best to draft a star that can propel their team forward for the next decade.

Obviously, teams picking at the top of the draft have a better chance of selecting a future star than teams picking at the bottom of Round 1. The key for each franchise will be to maximize the value of their first round selection.

This piece will outline the best, realistic, outcome available to each team in Round 1. Fans of every team should read on to learn what they should be hoping for when the draft arrives.

Buffalo Bills: Trade into Round 1

The Vikings actually own the Bills’ first round pick this season which complicates things for Brandon Beane and his front office. It makes the best option available to the team a trade up into the bottom of the first round. Sneaking into Day One to select Yetur Gross-Matos would help solidify the Bills’ pass rush.

Miami Dolphins: Stay put and snag Tua

The Dolphins would be smart to move up to No. 3 and make sure they can draft their top choice at quarterback but it’s very possible they can stay at No. 5 and accomplish the same thing. Staying at No. 5 and getting Tua Tagovailoa would be great business by Miami.

Fortunately Miami is also armed with two additional first round picks. Coming away with K’Lavon Chaisson at No. 18 and Zack Baun at No. 26 would go a long way towards solidifying the team’s porous defense.

New England Patriots: Catch Tua on the slide

There’s considerable buzz about the possibility of Tagovailoa sliding in the first round. The Patriots would love to see that happen. They can’t stand pat at No. 23 and expect him to fall that far. The best case scenario for New England is that Tua will fall into the teens. If that happens, New England could trade up and stop his slide.

New York Jets: Give Sam Darnold a big time weapon

The Jets will be tempted to take a tackle to protect Darnold at No. 11, but they need to find an elite wide receiver in Round 1. Taking CeeDee Lamb at that spot would add serious juice to New York’s offense.
