Every team’s best-case scenario in the 2020 NFL Draft
Dallas Cowboys: Add a weapon in the slot
The Cowboys still haven’t adequately replaced Randall Cobb. They need to add one more weapon in the passing game for Dak Prescott. If Henry Ruggs III falls to No. 17 he would be a Godsend for Mike McCarthy’s offense. The odds are stacked against that happening, but it’s not impossible.
New York Giants: Avoid the headlines
The Giants simply need to stop being a punchline when it comes to the NFL Draft. This year, that means they should trade back from No. 4 and grab a starting left tackle later in Round 1. Dave Gettleman might not be capable of such boring business, but it would do his franchise a lot of good.
Philadelphia Eagles: Sit and wait for Jefferson
The Eagles haven’t made any secret of their desire to nab a top wideout in this year’s draft. Lamb, Jeudy and Ruggs will all likely be gone by the time they go on the clock at No. 21. Staying patient and adding an underrated prospect like Justin Jefferson would be a great move for the Eagles.
Washington Redskins: Being Young isn’t foolish
Edge rusher isn’t necessarily a position of need for the Redskins, but Chase Young is too good to pass up at No. 2. Washington isn’t going to get an offer worth considering to move off the pick. They should make the easy choice and add Young to turn their pass rush from good to great.
