2020 NFL mock draft: Full 7 rounds without trades
After selecting a speedy receiver earlier in the first round, the Raiders could shift their focus to the defensive side of the ball with another top-20 pick. The team needs another cornerback, so enter Kristian Fulton from LSU.
With the Tigers, Fulton had a tumultuous career. He received a two-year ban from the NCAA in 2017 for using someone else’s urine in a drug test. He admitted that he had smoked marijuana a few days before the test and therefore aimed to tamper with the result. He sat out all of the 2017 season as a sophomore.
In 2018, the NCAA reviewed the case and Fulton was able to return to the field. His best season came in ’19 though when he helped LSU when the title. He had 38 stops, one for a loss, an interception, and a team-high 14 pass breakups throughout the season.
Fulton is a great man corner with ball-hawk skills. He was always, sometimes to a fault, looking to make a play on the ball. He lacks great speed but has instincts to be in the right place at the right time. Though he may need some more seasoning to get ready for the NFL, Fulton should be a serviceable backup with the chance to move into a starting role for the Raiders.
