2020 NFL mock draft: Full 7 rounds without trades
Fly, Eagles fly! They certainly would fly with the speed of Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb, and fans would immediately fall in love with his talent. Surely, the Eagles would be pumped if Lamb is available this late in the game, but it’s tough to tell with teams having such different receiver rankings.
Behind Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson, the Eagles have question marks at wide receiver with players like J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward Jr., and Deontay Burnett. Lamb is an instant improvement over all of those players, easily.
For the Sooners, Lamb garnered first-team AP All-American, Biletnikoff Award finalist, and First-Team All-Big 12 honors. In 2019 he led Oklahoma with 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns in 13 starts. His 21.4 average yards per reception was tops in the FBS among players with 40+ receptions.
The 6-foot-2 wideout is an explosive, three-level playmaker, and he did so in one of college football’s most potent offenses. Lamb utilizes his speed and separation to the best of his abilities, but his route running is one area for improvement.
On the current Eagles roster, Lamb would be a great slot option. He has the versatility to play any wide receiver position though, and the team may even utilize him in the run game just to get the ball in his hands.
