Patrick Queen. 24. player. Scouting Report. LSU. 15. Pick Analysis. LB

The New Orleans Saints always seem to be Super Bowl contenders, they just can’t seem to get there. Of course, their team doesn’t have many holes, so they should be able to simply draft one of the best available players. LSU’s Patrick Queen may just be the best linebacker to come out of the 2020 NFL Draft class.

Queen totaled 85 tackles, 12 of those for a loss, three sacks, and one interception in 15 games last season for the Tigers. Now, he could make the leap from Baton Rouge to NOLA. Like San Francisco’s Kwon Alexander and Atlanta Falcons linebacker Deion Jones who came from LSU before him, Queen is a bit undersized but is sharp in coverage and is extremely fast. He has Pro Bowl-level talent for the NFL.

The linebacker has incredible play-recognition skills and his speed allows him to sometimes arrive at the hole before an opposing running back even gets there. That same speed will help him to fly to outside runs and minimize options plays from opponents.

Queen is the most sure-handed tackler of the linebackers in his class, yes even above Simmons and Murray. He can be a Day 1 starter regardless of what team calls his name..
