31. player. 42. C/G. Cesar Ruiz. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Michigan

The San Francisco 49ers landed a receiver early in Henry Ruggs. They stay on the offensive side of the ball with their other first-round pick, taking Cesar Ruiz out of Michigan. The center/guard should be an immediate upgrade on the interior, with Weston Richburg coming off injury and Joe Person having been worked over much of 2019.

Watch the Super Bowl, and you’ll continually see Chris Jones walking the 49ers’ interior back towards Jimmy Garoppolo. This was only one game, but it illuminated an issue San Francisco has to deal with, and adding Ruiz would be a fine way to fix it.

32. player. 124. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LB. Oklahoma. Kenneth Murray

The Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs don’t have many pressing needs.

Outside of guard/tackle Cam Erving, Kansas City retained every player who saw more than 46 percent of the snaps on last year’s team. However, there are a litany of one-year deals on the books including receivers Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson, defensive tackle Chris Jones (franchise tag) and cornerback Bashaud Breeland.

Ultimately, general manager Brett Veach likely goes best player available, and that’s Kenneth Murray. At Oklahoma, Murray struggled to diagnose the run frequently, but his superb athleticism and ability to blitz (29.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks over past two seasons) is worthy of a first-round grade. With good coaching, he should become a nice coverage linebacker who can wipe out tight ends.
