‘The Last Dance’ promised a new, never-before-seen look at Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. Here are five things Episodes 1 and 2 shed light on.

The Last Dance is finally here, and the first two episodes on Sunday wasted no time shedding light on storylines we had forgotten about, knew little about or had absolutely no idea about when it comes to Michael Jordan‘s last ride with the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls.

A 10-part docuseries with unprecedented access to one of the NBA‘s greatest dynasties was bound to show us plenty we hadn’t seen before, but if Episodes 1 and 2 are any indication, we’re going to learn quite a bit about the turmoil of that season, the GOAT himself, Scottie Pippen, Phil Jackson and the rest of that unforgettable team.

We’ve already tackled the basic plot summary and reactions, as well as the five best quotes from these premiere episodes, but there’s so much information packed into these first two hours that we’ve simply got to take a look at the things that have come back to light after 22 years.

Not all of these things are entirely new, but unless you lived in Chicago during Jordan’s Bulls dynasty or have read David Halberstam’s The Breaks of the Game and Sam Smith‘s The Jordan Rules multiple times, there’s a good chance these five things caught you by surprise, or at least reminded you of something you had forgotten, back in an age before social media.

Without further ado, here are five things Episodes 1 and 2 of The Last Dance shed extra light on that we weren’t entirely prepared for.
