4. The Packers will draft a wide receiver in Round 1

Davante Adams is one of the most talented and productive wide receivers in the NFL. Unfortunately for the Packers, they don’t have another above average wideout on the roster.

That’s why Green Bay will use their late first round pick on a wide receiver in this year’s draft. They are fortunate in the fact that this year’s class is absolutely loaded at the position. The Packers could conceivably try to come away with more than one impact receiver in this year’s draft as a result.

The question is just what sort of pass catcher the Packers will pursue with the No. 30 overall selection. There will be targets of all shapes and sizes available. LaFleur might naturally gravitate towards a big body like Tee Higgins who can help keep the chains moving.

The front office should ultimately roll the dice on a prospect more capable of producing big plays. A small, but speedy target like KJ Hamler would be an intriguing fit. No matter what, Green Bay has to find a new weapon or two for Rodgers in this year’s draft. Spending their Round 1 pick on a wideout is a must.
