4. Vs. Las Vegas Raiders

While most experts assume the Chiefs will easily win the AFC West, they still have to take care of business in their own division. Their biggest threat in the AFC West is the Las Vegas Raiders, who appear to be the divisional foe closest to making a playoff run.

The Raiders are off to their new home but have the foundations of a good team under head coach Jon Gruden, who had them in position to make the playoffs in the middle of 2019. An ill-timed three-game losing streak buried the Raiders, and one of those losses came at the hands of the Chiefs.

There was even a point where it looked like the Raiders could win the AFC West when Kansas City was struggling, but the Chiefs still swept Oakland last season. This is one of the division’s most bitter rivalries, but it is entirely one-sided of late, with the Chiefs going 9-1 over the last 10 meetings.

That run includes a four-game winning streak dating back to 2018, so the Raiders will be highly motivated to snap that drought. Las Vegas has also made some moves this offseason to boost their defense, with the big one being the acquisition of Cory Littleton to bolster the linebacking corps.

If Kansas City can take care of business against the Raiders, their quest to win the AFC West again will be significantly easier. That fact alone makes their contests with the Raiders must-win games.
