2020 NFL Mock Draft: Tua Tagovailoa goes to the Colts
By Conor Dorney
Another turning point in this draft. Will #TankForTua come to fruition or will the Dolphins go with Oregon’s Justin Herbert or Utah State’s Jordan Love? Offensive tackle is another possibility but I’ll stick with Herbert in this scenario.
Pick from the alternate universe: Tua Tagavailoa
Anthony Lynn seems comfortable with Tyrod Taylor as his starting quarterback, so the Chargers choose to address a glaring need at left tackle and select Andrew Thomas of Georgia. Utah State’s Jordan Love could sneak into the picture if L.A. does go for a signal-caller.
Pick from the alternate universe: Jordan Love
*projected trade w/ Carolina*
The loss of Byron Jones created a huge hole in the Dallas secondary that likely won’t be filled unless they get aggressive in round one. Here, the Cowboys trade up into the top 10 for arguably the best cornerback in the draft.
Pick from the alternate universe: CJ Henderson
*projected trade w/ Arizona*
The Dolphins use their treasure trove of picks to move up for the team’s left tackle of the future, Louisville’s Mekhi Becton. Becton is a mountain of a human being who could serve as Justin Herbert’s new blindside protector moving forward.
Pick from the alternate universe: Andrew Thomas
The Jaguars’ defense is turning into a real-life version of the Will Smith Fresh Prince meme. Here, they start the rebuild in earnest with a player they likely didn’t expect to fall to them, Auburn’s Derrick Brown. Depending on how many picks they end up with following trades of Leonard Fournette and Yannick Ngakoue, he could also be a trade-up target.
Pick from the alternate universe: CeeDee Lamb
