Drew Brees is back for another season with the Saints. Can he bring another Super Bowl title to the people of New Orleans?

The New Orleans Saints and quarterback Drew Brees have one, singular goal this season: It’s Super Bowl or bust. The good news for fans in the Big Easy is that Sean Payton’s team has more than enough talent to achieve its goal.

Brees triggers one of the NFL‘s most prolific offenses. He gets the ball to his skill players faster than any other quarterback in the league. That allows weapons like Micheal Thomas and Alvin Kamara to make big plays against overmatched defenders.

The defense continues to be a work in progress for Payton and his staff. The unit finished last season as 13th in the NFL in points allowed per game, but the group needs to be better to reach a Super Bowl.

The franchise hopes that bringing Malcolm Jenkins back into the fold will help galvanize the secondary. He’s an upgrade over Vonn Bell, but he isn’t going to change things overnight for his teammates. The Saints still need improved play from both Marshon Lattimore and Janoris Jenkins at both corner spots.

No matter what, the Saints are a team that has a legitimate chance to hoist the Lombardi Trophy when all is said and done. The outcome of the following five bold predictions will go a long way towards determining the team’s ability to etch their names in immortality.

5. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson will start 10 games

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson may not fit perfectly at either cornerback or safety, but he’s got too much talent to leave on the bench. He’s going to find his way into Payton’s starting lineup on defense more often than not in 2020.

That’s especially true when you consider the type of passing attacks New Orleans will face in their own division. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will throw it a ton with Tom Brady at the helm. The Carolina Panthers didn’t hire Joe Brady to run a conservative offense. The Atlanta Falcons want Matt Ryan to torment opposing secondaries. Add it all up and Gardner-Johnson will play a ton of meaningful snaps for the Saints this season.
