The best and worst coach setups for the 2020 NFL Draft
The virtual 2020 NFL Draft took us inside the lives of NFL coaches and GMs, so who had the best and worst setups for their work from home experience?
Like most Americans, NFL coaches and general managers have been working from home in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the 2020 NFL Draft, we got a peek inside the lifestyles of the rich and famous football coaches.
In a case of the Draft meeting MTV Cribs, let’s take a look at some of the more interesting setups around the league.
Arizona Cardinals
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury sure knows how to draft in style. Once the Cardinals took Isaiah Simmons at No. 8, he had the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors with that amazing fire pit.
Las Vegas Raiders
Jon Gruden is more old school and is a true meat-and-potatoes guy. This converted pool room setup is basic but does feature the retro whiteboard featuring the Raiders’ draft rankings.
Detroit Lions
The Lions are clearly concerned about tech issues but want to practice social distancing, so they got a Winnebago for their head of IT to work out of for the whole draft. The camper will be parked right outside GM Bob Quinn’s house.
Dallas Cowboys
Jerry Jones makes sure he’s drafting in the life of luxury, picking CeeDee Lamb in a space that is a cross between the inside of Delos’ hospitality area on Westworld and a James Bond villain’s lair.
New England Patriots
We’ve seen plenty of photos of high-tech monitor setups, but all Bill Belichick needs is a kitchen table, a few laptops and a cell phone to stay in contact with Ernie Adams for an inside edge on the process.
Minnesota Vikings
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer went home to his ranch for the draft, complete with a roaring fire in the background and plenty of taxidermy on the walls.
Kansas City Chiefs
Andy Reid has earned the right to do whatever he wants after winning a Super Bowl, basically taking over his home gym and rocking out to some tunes to kill some time before the last pick of the first round.
Denver Broncos
John Elway was a real winner tonight by having Jerry Jeudy fall right into Denver’s lap at pick No. 15. Bonus points for the major flex of having the Broncos’ three Super Bowl trophies in prominent view for the TV cameras.
New York Giants
There were real questions about whether or not Dave Gettleman would be up to the challenge of the virtual draft, but he chose to work out of the most basic setup possible. The solitary Giants’ Pride towel hanging over the back of the TV screams minimalistic decoration skills from a meat-and-potatoes GM.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bruce Arians is a man with his own unique style, and it was so big that his own house couldn’t contain it. This outdoor setup is a lot of fun, taking over the patio, and it cleans up easily to have a barbecue after the draft is over.
