4. Tristan Wirfs, Buccaneers

The Buccaneers entered the draft with a clear mission to find a tackle capable of protecting Tom Brady. Getting Tristan Wirfs with the No. 13 selection achieved that goal emphatically for the franchise.

Wirfs had a legitimate shot to go as high as No. 4 to the Giants. In the end, he slipped all the way down to becoming the fourth tackle off the board. He may not have the most upside in the class, but his exceptionally high floor makes him a great pick for Tampa Bay.

Some scouts have some concern over his ability to stay at tackle, but his film reveals him to be a player who possesses more than enough quickness to stay outside. Combine that with the sheer power he shows in his upper body and its easy to see how he can become an above-average starter very quickly in his NFL career.

The Buccaneers should be overjoyed that they were able to get him while only trading up one spot in the draft. He’s going to be a vital part of their offense in 2020. His ability to keep Brady clean will make him one of the most valuable picks from this year’s draft.
