2. Chase Young, Redskins

Anytime you can get the most talented prospect in a draft class you have to qualify it as a big success. That’s exactly what the Redskins achieved when they selected Chase Young with the No. 2 overall selection.

He is an edge rusher that has a legitimate chance to develop into one of the most disruptive defenders in the league. He’s also landing in a perfect spot to develop his skills. Ron Rivera is a defensive-minded coach that should do wonders to help Young adjust to the rigors of life in the NFL.

Notching double-digit sacks won’t be out of the ordinary for Young. Instead, it will be the expectation for him. His combination of elite athleticism and quality technique will make him a nightmare for offensive tackles to handle.

Redskins fans should be thrilled about what they’re getting out of Round 1 of this year’s draft. Young will develop into an All-Pro quickly in Washington. The odds favor him being the best player out of this year’s draft class. The only real question is how long it will take him to blossom into that player under the watchful eye of Rivera and his coaching staff.
