The Green Bay Packers pulled off the stunner of the night by drafting Jordan Love to be the heir apparent to Aaron Rodgers, leaving their fan base very divided.

Life has come full circle for Aaron Rodgers and he surely isn’t happy about it. After being drafted to replace Brett Favre with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers is now on the other end of the spectrum after Green Bay chose Jordan Love with its first-round pick.

The pick was certainly unexpected and Green Bay fans didn’t react very well on Twitter.

This choice is fascinating for Green Bay, which dealt a fourth-round pick for the right to grab Love. The idea makes sense in a vacuum since Rodgers is 36 years old, so securing your long-term future at the game’s most important position makes sense.

The issue is this Packers’ team is poised to win right now and was one game shy of the Super Bowl last year. Green Bay has clear needs at linebacker and receiver but passed on guys like Patrick Queen and Justin Jefferson to grab Love, who won’t play for at least three years if all goes according to plan.

Queen or Jefferson could have contributed from the jump, instantly giving the Packers more of a chance to get by the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints in the NFC. Love won’t be a factor for Green Bay for a long time, making Packers’ fans angry that their team wasted a chance to improve now.
