Arizona Cardinals 2020 NFL Draft grades: Isaiah Simmons is a steal
Best Pick: Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
The Arizona Cardinals lucked into Isaiah Simmons, who could easily become a superstar in the league. He is a freak athete that can be used in so many different places on the field and in various sub packages.
The versatility will make it tough for opposing offenses to game plan for Simmons. Having over 100 tackles as season ago is a huge accomplishment, and the polished defender will look to carry that moment to Glendale. He should get on the field on every down for Arizona, with the ability to make plays in the run game and against the pass.
He is a candidate for the Rookie of the Year award.
Worst Pick: Rashard Lawrence, DT, LSU
Lawrence is a fine player, but not one that the Arizona Cardinals need. Leki Fotu is a better athlete and seems like a better fit for them right now. There was no need for the team to double up on defensive tackles so close to one another. The competition will be great, but it looks like that may be all Lawrence provides at this point.
Grade: A
Arizona’s grade is boosted thanks mostly to their first two picks. Isaiah Simmons is a freak and Josh Jones will be a huge improvement on the offensive line. Both sides of the ball were upgraded, and in a quite remarkable way. The Cardinals will utilize those two to become a force in the NFL with Kyler Murray, and they may actually have a winning record in 2020.
