Los Angeles Rams 2020 NFL Draft grades: Van Jefferson says hello
The Los Angeles Rams went ahead and found their Todd Gurley replacement, despite not having a pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Los Angeles Rams let Todd Gurley go, but picked up a running back with a similar kill set to replace him. They found a few more ways to improve their offense in the 2020 NFL Draft while also addressing a few defensive needs.
Ooverall, Los Angeles seems to have found a great draft balance, with special teamers and project players as well as those that can step in and play right away.
Second Round
The Rams now have their answer on offense after Todd Gurley left for Atlanta. Cam Akers from Florida State can step in and play on day one, and can be a part of a great duo with Darrelle Henderson.
Akers received second-team all-conference honors after leadingthe Seminoles with 1,144 rushing yards on 231 carries and 14 touchdowns. Akers also caught 30 passes for 225 yards, proving he can be a factor in the passing game.
With the departure of Brandin Cooks, the Rams were looking for a new wideout to give to Jared Goff. In a deep WR class, Van Jefferson is more than capable of starting in the NFL.
At Florida last season, Jefferson had 49 receptions for 657 yards and six touchdowns. He is a versatile receiver who has played all three receiver spots but is likely to do most of his damage from the slot in the NFL.
