The first virtual NFL Draft is in the books and these 10 teams absolutely crushed the work-from-home format to build stacked classes.

The 2020 NFL Draft is done, and it was a new experience for all parties involved. The first-ever virtual draft went off pretty seamlessly, with no major tech issues and teams getting their business done efficiently. Let’s take a look at 10 teams that absolutely crushed this draft, beginning with the New York Jets.

10. New York Jets

Draft Class

  • 1st round-OT Mekhi Becton (Louisville)
  • 2nd round-WR Denzel Mims (Baylor)
  • 3rd round-S Ashtyn Davis (Cal), DE Jabari Zuniga (Florida)
  • 4th round-RB La’Mical Perine (Florida), QB James Morgan (FIU), OT Cameron Clark (Charlotte)
  • 5th round-CB Bryce Hall (Virginia)
  • 6th round-P Braden Mann (Texas A&M)

Joe Douglas’ first draft as the Jets’ GM was a smashing success. The Jets needed offensive line help and Douglas made a high-upside choice at No. 11, nabbing Louisville’s Mekhi Becton to potentially protect Sam Darnold’s blindside for the next decade.

The second round saw some fine work by Douglas, who traded back from 48 to 59 and still snagged the player many assumed the Jets wanted at that pick, wide receiver Denzel Mims. The deal got the Jets an extra third-round pick, which Douglas traded to the New England Patriots for three more picks.

The Jets did a great job adding depth to their roster and finding values in the later rounds, such as Cal safety Ashtyn Davis, FIU quarterback James Morgan, and Virginia cornerback Bryce Hall. Douglas’ ability to work the draft and find value has helped the Jets put together a much better class than the franchise has seen in years.
