Philadelphia Eagles 2020 NFL schedule: 5 must-win games
3. Vs. Seattle Seahawks
This matchup with the Seattle Seahawks is staked with a ton of meaning for the Philadelphia Eagles. The teams met twice last season, both in Philadelphia, with Seattle coming out victorious in both matchups.
The second game was in the Wild Card round and saw the Seahawks eliminate the Eagles from playoff contention. There is a bit of an asterisk to that game, however, since Eagles’ quarterback Carson Wentz was knocked out early with a concussion.
The injury forced the Eagles to turn to backup Josh McCown, a long time NFL veteran who was getting his first taste of playoff action. McCown did his best for Philadelphia but the Eagles’ chances of winning the game left the field with Wentz.
There should be a significant revenge element at play here with the Eagles against the Seahawks. Philadelphia will also want to prove they can beat Seattle in a big spot, especially with the Seahawks flying east to take on the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field again.
If the Seahawks are able to beat the Eagles three times in the span of a calendar year in Philadelphia it could create a mental hurdle between the two sides. That is something that the Eagles desperately want to avoid, making it a must-win game for Philadelphia.
