4 teams that missed on filling their draft needs in 2020 NFL Draft
The 2020 NFL Draft is in the books, but these four teams failed to address a major position of need on their roster.
The draft is a time for teams to find young talent at positions of need and to also add depth. They have the opportunity to do so in free agency as well, which takes place a month prior to the draft.
Which four teams missed out on some major needs in this year’s draft?
CINCINNATI BENGALS
The Bengals held the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and as a surprise to no one, took Joe Burrow with their first pick. Burrow fills the quarterback need the Bengals had and while they drafted talent at wide receiver, they really could have used a tight end. They didn’t draft one.
As of now, the only tight end that’s recognizable on the Bengals’ roster is C.J. Uzomah, who is heading into year six. Uzomah has been decent for Cincinnati, but the team could have really used a top-tier upgrade.
The Bengals also should have drafted an offensive lineman sooner than the sixth round because it’s going to be hard for Burrow to succeed when he’s getting pressured constantly. Landing Burrow and Tee Higgins was a nice start for Cincinnati, but it didn’t fill some of its other biggest needs in order to help Burrow succeed.
