2. Losing record on the road

For as nicely as things set up for the Bills at home, they will have their challenges away from Western New York. While they should be able to hold their own away from home in at least a few games, they will end up dropping more than they win. How many road wins are realistically on the table for the Bills this fall?

Until proven otherwise, expect a road loss to the New England Patriots. Though the Bills can steal a game on the road vs. the New York Jets, the same thing can’t be said for the Miami Dolphins. Winning one road game in the division would be commendable for the Bills this year. What about the other five games away from New Era Field, though?

Against the AFC West, the Bills draw games vs. the Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders on the road. Winning at Mile High seems a tad insurmountable, while plundering a road victory in Sin City seems a bit more realistic. In NFC West games, a win over the Arizona Cardinals in the Valley of the Sun is possible, but a defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara is not happening.

As for their road game to even out competitive balance, the Bills can upend the Tennessee Titans in Nashville, but won’t be favored to do so. Is a winning road record possible for the Bills? Sure, but they are more likely to go 3-5 away from New Era Field than they are to go 5-3. Going .500 in hostile road environments should be applauded, but a losing road record is expected.
