Draftkings will present the DFS community with a number of showdown contests for the first round of the Golden State Tour’s Legacy Classic. Let’s take a look at the first round from a fantasy perspective!

If the name of this tournament sounds familiar to you, well, it should. The Outlaw Tour’s Legacy Shootout was played here just two weeks ago. Several of the golfers in this week’s field competed in the Legacy Shootout in April.

I won’t bother with getting into the course specifics due to the fact I did so for my Legacy Shootout article last month. I will just remind readers that the Legacy Golf Resort track is not at all difficult. Having stated that, the vast majority of this week’s field should have no issue with scoring in this event. Keep that in mind as you compile lineups for Draftkings contests.

*This article is focused on the first round Draftkings showdown contest. If you are not familiar with the rules for the showdown contest offered by Draftkings I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

Here are my Draftkings golfer selections for the first round of the Legacy Classic.

Dylan Wu $10,400

Dylan Wu has played six tournaments on the Golden State and Outlaw Tours combined since December 2019. In those six events played, Wu has five top six finishes, including a sixth place result at the Legacy Shootout two weeks ago. I mentioned earlier in this article that the Legacy Shootout was played at Legacy Golf Resort’s course. I like the fact that Wu appears to like the Legacy track that he will see again this week.

Wu is a member of the Korn Ferry Tour. The Korn Ferry Tour is obviously much better with regard to overall field talent on a weekly basis than the Golden State and Outlaw Tours. Having stated that, I think it is highly important for me to illustrate Wu’s ability to play at a high level on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Since January of this year, Dylan Wu has played six Korn Ferry Tour events. In those six events played, Wu had an impressive four top 11 finishes, including a seventh place result at the Panama Championship in February. I absolutely love Wu’s chances to win this week’s event.

Yannick Paul $9,200

Paul finished second at the Legacy Shootout two weeks ago. Additionally, in the 13 total first rounds he has played on the Golden State and Outlaw Tours this season, Yannick Paul has a first round scoring average of 68.76.

Riley Wheeldon $8,700

Wheeldon is the current money leader on the Outlaw Tour. He has played 11 tournaments this season. In those 11 events played, Wheeldon has an impressive nine top 11 finishes, including a win at the Moon Valley Classic in March.

Kaleb Gorbahn $8,500

He fired a final round 64 in the final round of last week’s GCU Championship en route to a sixth place finish. Additionally, Gorbahn leads all players on the Outlaw Tour in total eagles made this season. More specifically, in 24 total rounds played, Gorbahn has 12 eagles.

Nick Arman $7,400

Now that I have golfers that are in the more expensive tiers, I need to find a golfer at a lower cost that has the potential to break the slate Monday. I think I have found that man and his name is Nick Arman! Arman competed in last week’s GCU Championship. He fired a first round 65 and a final round 66 in last week’s event.

As always, good luck!
