It’s been almost two months since the start of NFL free agency and former No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney is still unsigned.

The Houston Texans made Jadeveon Clowney the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and after four years there, he spent a year in Seattle and is now waiting to sign with what very well could be his third NFL team heading into his seventh year.

Clowney is likely still left unsigned due to injury history and the fact that he doesn’t want to sign for cheap. Whatever team wants him is going to have to pony up some cash, so these three teams listed will be ones who can afford him and also have a need for Clowney on the defensive side of the ball.

Let’s take a look at three teams who should be looking to bring in Clowney.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

If Clowney re-signs with the Seahawks, then it’s still only his second team in his NFL career, as he spent the 2019 season with them. There appears to be interest on both sides here, as the Seahawks have reportedly offered Clowney a contract.

As Dianna Russini mentions in the tweet above, Clowney isn’t in a hurry to sign and wants more money than that of what Seattle is offering. The Seahawks used to be known for their defensive prowess, but have become more reliant on Russell Wilson‘s abilities in recent years.

Clowney would help keep the Seahawks defense respectable and should they sign him, they could ink him to a longer contract this time around so that they’re not in this same boat a year from now.

Brady Henderson tweeted that a reunion doesn’t seem likely though, so unless the Seahawks are willing to truly commit to Clowney, he’ll likely be heading to team number three.
