Cincinnati Bengals 2020 schedule release: Games, dates and times
The season was a long one for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2019. Owners of the worst record in the league, what can 2020 bring? Here’s the schedule.
Each season, fans usually remember two teams. One, the Super Bowl winner. Two, the team with the worst record.
The Cincinnati Bengals didn’t have a parade down the streets of the city. Instead, the team went 2-14 and now management gets ready to pick first in the NFL Draft.
What went wrong in 2019? A lot. Under first year head coach Zac Taylor, the Bengals were flat out bad on both sides of the ball and ended the season with a -141-point differential.
The team’s highest point total of the season was 35, which came against the Miami Dolphins. Outside of that game, the Bengals had only one other game of 30+ points. Both of those games were played with Andy Dalton under center, and his days as the team’s starter appear to have come to an end.
Outside of those two games, the Bengals scored 23 or less points in every game. They scored 13 or fewer six times.
Defensively, things were just as bad. The team allowed opponents to score 34+ points four times, including two 40+ point games. They only held opponents to under 10 points once.
Now, it’s likely that the team decides to go with LSU star Joe Burrow with the number-one pick. All he did last year was have perhaps the greatest college football season ever and win the National Championship.
If the pick is Burrow, it is still unlikely that the Bengals suddenly become a playoff team. Although, you never know what can happen, and a good quarterback can do a lot of positive things for a football team.
