Houston Texans 2020 schedule release: Games, dates and times
After an embarrassing exit in the 2019 playoffs and some questionable offseason moves, do the Houston Texans have it what it takes to stay atop the AFC South?
The Houston Texans have a lot of figuring out to do over the next few weeks. A mostly positive 10-6 record landed them another AFC South crown and an eventual trip to the AFC Championship game … where they practically disappeared after the first quarter in a 51-31 loss to the eventual Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bill O’Brien’s squad had some key wins during the 2019 season. Following the season-opening loss in New Orleans, the Texans bounced back to pick up a big win over the Atlanta Falcons and then over the New England Patriots on their way to the division title. But the headlines came after the season ended, just prior to the sports world coming to a stop.
O’Brien dealt one of the biggest weapons of the team, DeAndre Hopkins, to the Arizona Cardinals. This left fans and people around the NFL scratching their heads as to why. Clearly Houston’s head coach and general manager had something up his sleeve, although many questioned why he didn’t get more out of the deal aside from David Johnson.
J.J. Watt returns to headline the defense along with Whitney Mercilus. With Hopkins moving out, Will Fuller and Kenny Stills will join new teammates Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb as the Texans’ new receiving core. Things are going to be interesting at NRG Stadium this year, and will be worth watching for sure even after a disappointing 2019 season in Texas.
With that being said, it is time to look ahead to the 2020 NFL schedule and just who the Texans will see this year:
