1. Mets vs. Yankees

The New York Mets and New York Yankees is perhaps the most popular inner-city rivalry in baseball. While this is a matchup that occurs quite often, it will be fun to see it occur a lot more often than what baseball fans are used to.

While Yankees-Red Sox is the sports’ most popular rivalry, and there will still be plenty of matchups between them, seeing the boys in pinstripes take on the Mets could help refuel that rivalry as well.

A quick trip on the New York Subway is all that separates Yankee Stadium and Citi Field and that will be a common trip taken by the teams in 2020. Both teams present young stars that will be sure to help make this matchup very intriguing.

Aaron Judge can hit a baseball as far as anyone in baseball and the Mets counter with Pete Alonso, who as a rookie, slugged 53 home runs. Odds are this matchup could see more home runs hit than in any other matchup this season.

While baseball may not be the same in 2020, there is still plenty for fans to be excited about. While many of the traditions we have come so accustomed to are out the door in 2020, there are still so many new traditions, and new matchups that fans will come to love.
