NFL schedule 2020: Biggest game for all 32 teams
Kansas City Chiefs: at Baltimore Ravens
It has been a fun time to be a Kansas City Chiefs fan. The franchise finally found a star quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and won the Super Bowl in February for the first time in 50 years.
While it seems like the party could go on forever (social distancing style) in Kansas City, the Chiefs do have a unique challenge ahead of them. No team has been able to repeat as Super Bowl champs since the Patriots pulled off the feat back in 2004, so the Chiefs will look to make some history in this regard.
Kansas City has an incredible home-field advantage at Arrowhead Stadium and we saw how much of a difference it made in the playoffs against Houston and Tennessee. Securing home-field advantage throughout the playoffs could be the key for the Chiefs’ repeat chances, making their matchup against the Ravens the most important game of the season.
These two squads met in Kansas City a year ago, with the Chiefs prevailing back in Week 3. That game came before the emergence of Lamar Jackson as an MVP candidate and Tennessee’s upset of the Ravens in the playoffs denied us an opportunity to see a rematch in the AFC Championship Game.
The venue for this year’s game shifts to M&T Bank Stadium, meaning Mahomes and company need to win in Baltimore to get home field once again. That won’t be an easy task, but nothing will ever be easy for a defending Super Bowl champion.
