BYE WEEK: Chiefs, Cowboys, Chargers, Falcons

Game of the Week: San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints

These are arguable the two best teams in the NFC. San Francisco and New Orleans played a classic at the Superdome last November, with Jimmy Garoppolo and George Kittle leading the 49ers to a last-second, comeback win.

This time, it’s largely the same cast of characters but with Emmanuel Sanders playing for the home team. Whoever wins might end up hiding onto home-field advantage, made even more important with the new playoff format.

For the Saints, this might eb the last season for Drew Brees. If New Orleans can’t get back to the Super Bowl, it could be a long wait until it has a real chance to do so. Meanwhile, the 49ers are one of the league’s youngest contenders behind Garoppolo and a fantastic front seven. Even after losing DeForest Buckner in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts, general manager John Lynch simply reload with Javon Kinlaw.
