Game of the Week: Philadelphia Eagles at San Francisco 49ers

This is where the calendar turns to October, and two of the more exciting teams in the NFC begin to ramp up.

The Eagles made the playoffs last year but bowed out in the Wild Card round after dealing with an unfathomable crush of injuries. Philadelphia looks to be back with another quality roster behind quarterback Carson Wentz, who should be motivated after seeing general manager Howie Roseman draft Jalen Hurts out of Oklahoma in the second round.

In San Francisco, this season is about redemption. The 49ers were seven minutes away from winning the Super Bowl only to see the Chiefs score 21 unanswered points to close out the game. Looking at the roster, there’s little reason to think San Francisco won’t be in the mix once more to represent the NFC.

The winner of this game may hold a key tiebreaker down the line.
