The Pittsburgh Steelers get Ben Roethlisberger back this season, and his return to the starting lineup should make them a marquee attraction in 2020.

There are a few NFL franchises that always command attention and the Pittsburgh Steelers are right at the top of that list. A strong winning tradition has turned the Steelers into one of the most popular teams in football, making their games very attractive for TV ratings purposes.

It has been a few years since Pittsburgh reached the postseason, but 2019 was a difficult task for them when Ben Roethlisberger went down with an elbow injury in Week 2 that required surgery. Quarterback problems plagued the Steelers throughout the year as Mason Rudolph and Delvin “Duck” Hodges couldn’t salvage the season in spite of Pittsburgh’s excellent defense.

Getting Roethlisberger back should be a welcome sight for JuJu Smith-Schuster, whose production dipped with the change in quarterbacks. James Conner’s injury issues didn’t help either and if he is healthy the Pittsburgh offense should be a lot better.

The thing that will give the Steelers their best chance at success is their defense, which was outstanding in 2019. Pittsburgh has playmakers at all three levels of the defense, giving them the capability to slow down even the most potent of offenses.

The Steelers should draw plenty of nationally televised games thanks to a strong slate of opponents. The Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles should all become must-see TV games as well.
