Overall Record: 11-5

Home Record: 7-1

Road Record: 4-4

Green Bay is still a strong football team, but in all likelihood, they will take a slight step back from a year ago. 11-5 is still a good enough record to win the NFC North, but it won’t be enough to get the Packers past either San Francisco or New Orleans in the conference standings.

There is a strong possibility that Green Bay could lose to both teams during the regular season, which is a realistic possibility with both of those contests on the road. The Packers would be behind the eight ball in the tiebreaker department, in that case, likely finishing as the No. 3 seed in the NFC in those circumstances.

Lambeau Field does offer one of the best home-field advantages in football and should be enough to help Green Bay win in the Wild Card round. Advancing beyond that will require wins against at least one of the Saints or 49ers, which is not a sure thing for the Packers this season.

Those regular-season games against San Francisco and New Orleans are the biggest on the Packers’ schedule for a reason. Failing to win either would make a potential road to the Super Bowl much more difficult, so winning at least one would be well advised.
