Pick Analysis. 2. player. 32. Scouting Report. QB. Arizona Cardinals. Kyler Murray

You just knew the No. 1 overall pick from the 2019 NFL Draft was going to show up here at some point. Kyler Murray was so good coming out of college, he made the Arizona Cardinals punt on their mistake from the year prior and take him with the top selection. Though it wasn’t a smooth first season for Kliff Kingsbury in Phoenix, it was sure better than Steve Wilks’ 2018 campaign.

A lot of his success last fall had to do with Murray, who was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Murray went 5-10-1 as a starter, completing 64.4 percent of his passes for 3,722 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also had 93 carries for 544 yards and four additional trips to pay dirt. The best part about Murray is he’s just getting started as a pro.

If Murray doesn’t end up making to a handful of Pro Bowls and lead the Cardinals to the NFC playoffs a few times, then he won’t live up to his lofty draft status. But so far so good for the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner out of Oklahoma. What’s really cool about this year is he got a new toy to sling the ball to in arguably the best wide receiver in football in DeAndre Hopkins.

Along with future Pro Football Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk, Murray will have more than a few mouths to feed in the Cardinals’ ever-evolving passing game. Look for Murray to throw for 25 or so touchdowns and over 4,000 yards as he has the Cardinals in position to fight for a Wild Card berth. A Pro Bowl may not come until year three, but he’s certainly working towards it.
