1. Doug Marrone (Jacksonville Jaguars)

The hottest seat in the NFL right now belongs to Doug Marrone. The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the worst teams in football and Marrone only has two years left on his contract, meaning that he needs results to justify an extension.

Those results will be hard to come by for Marrone, who survived the disaster of Jacksonville’s last two years when owner Shad Khan fired Tom Coughlin instead. The good will of 2017’s run to the AFC Championship Game is running out for Marrone, who has seen the Jaguars go 11-21 over the last two years.

The locker room also has a ton of issues right now with Yannick Ngakoue still a Jaguar and threatening to hold out while Leonard Fournette could be unhappy after his fifth-year option was declined. Jacksonville is also the clear last-place team in a stacked AFC South so losses could mount quickly.

If the season moves to a point where the Jaguars are heading towards a top draft pick it could make sense to dump Marrone and move on a new head coaching search early. That scenario is quite likely, so don’t be at all surprised if the Jaguars move towards firing Marrone during the 2020 season.
