5 players who the Las Vegas Raiders need to be great in 2020

4. Clelin Ferrell, Edge Rusher
The Raiders made Clelin Ferrell the No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft last year, selecting him shockingly ahead of Josh Allen from Kentucky. While Allen put up solid numbers in his rookie season, Ferrell did not load up the stat sheet, but there were a few reasons why that was the case.
First off, Ferrell played out of position early in the season, as there was a need for him to move inside more instead of playing on the edge like he did at Clemson. Later, he got sick, losing a ton of weight before beefing back up for a late season run that saw him play at a much higher level.
Fellow rookie Maxx Crosby, who was selected in the fourth round, had double-digit sacks, giving the kind of production that the team expected from Ferrell. Still, they will need both guys to be as productive as Crosby was last season, and Ferrell has stated that he is going to come back to camp a new man in 2020.
This is a solid football player, and based on what we saw late in the season, big things are going to be expected from him in Year 2. Las Vegas has also brought in Carl Nassib to provide some depth at the position, but if the Raiders are going to take the next step forward on defense, Ferrell is key.
