3. Kyler Murray

There is a credible argument for Murray being number two on this list. Last year’s number one overall pick arguably has the highest ceiling of all the NFC West quarterbacks and enjoyed a rookie year that indicated he will soon make the leap to the league’s elite.

Murray’s abilities as a dual-threat were as advertised, with defenses across the league confounded by what he can do with his legs in the open field.

He also demonstrated the unerring accuracy in throwing to all three levels that helped convince the Cardinals to take him first despite selecting Josh Rosen a year earlier.

For every remarkable throw, however, there was a confounding turnover. Murray made too many poor decisions and took too many sacks – a league-leading 48 in 2019 – to be considered the second-best quarterback in his division.

There is no question, though, that he could catapult into that spot in 2020. By adding DeAndre Hopkins to a receiving corps that already featured ageless wonder Larry Fitzgerald and a developing young stud in Christian Kirk, the Cardinals have put an excellent supporting cast around Murray.

Great things are expected of Murray in his sophomore season in the NFL. If he delivers, his name could soon be being mentioned in the same conversation as Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson as an exciting new generation takes the mantle at the quarterback position.
