1. Philip Rivers

Colts fans seem to believe that Rivers is automatically going to give them an upgrade over Jacoby Brissett’s 2019 performance. Evidently fans in Indianapolis didn’t get a chance to see Rivers’ horrendous final campaign with the Chargers.

The veteran signal caller will benefit from a superior supporting cast in Indianapolis, but there’s still a significant chance that he’s just past his prime as a player. Inexplicably, Rivers seems to be getting a free pass for throwing 20 interceptions a season ago.

If he does anything like that for the Colts in 2020 it could cost Frank Reich’s team any chance of returning to the postseason. More people should be openly discussing the possibility that Rivers is going to be this team’s weakest link.

Look for the Colts coaching staff to try their best to protect the veteran. They understand he isn’t going to be able to carry their offense for a full 16-game slate and the playoffs. The question is whether or not he can dig deep and play elite football when the stakes are at their highest. Colts fans should be very concerned over whether or not Rivers still has any gas left in the tank.
