13. Visit Big Blue Country

Let’s double down on the history factor here with our next arena trip. The college basketball bucket list wouldn’t be complete without a stop in Lexington, Kentucky to check out Rupp Arena.

1976 marked the opening of Rupp Arena, which has served as the home of the Kentucky Wildcats ever since. Fans across the country know the level of prestige associated with Wildcats’ basketball, so stopping here to watch a game is a no-brainer.

One thing worth noting about Rupp is that unlike other arenas built since then it has no luxury suites. All of the seats are typical stadium seats, which is typical of a blue-collar mentality embodied by the Bluegrass state.

The Wildcats have won four national championships since Rupp opened, with their most recent title coming in 2012. Legendary coaches like Joe B. Hall, Rick Pitino, and John Calipari have spent their time roaming the sidelines at Rupp as the wins continued to pile up.

There is also an incredibly electric atmosphere in Rupp as Kentucky fans are among the most passionate in the country. Experiencing that excitement for yourself is a solid choice for the college basketball bucket list.
